ART GALLERY INTERN:
Micaëla Gallery seeks an intern to work
8 hours, 2 days a week. The gallery is open Tuesday - Saturday from 11
to 6.
This internship is available only for students seeking academic
credit.
About us:
Micaëla Gallery is a
mid-career gallery a block away from San Francisco's posh Union Square. We
show a wide range of artworks by emerging and mid-career artists.
What we are looking for:
Micaëla Gallery's internship program is structured to coordinate applicants' interest, backgrounds, and schedules with the needs of our gallery. While we cannot offer paid internships, we offer a behind-the-scenes experience in a culturally enriched neighborhood, at a dynamic gallery, and a chance to work with artists and arts professionals in exchange for your valuable time and talent.
Interns should be interested in working in a
professional gallery environment, possess strong communications skills (both in person and on the phone),
poise, and have computer skills in word processing and email. Basic Photoshop
and FileMaker experience is highly desirable, but training will be provided. Candidates must be able to commit
to a 3-month internship. We are happy to support our interns with

GALLERY ASSOCIATE: (This position is no longer open)
Micaëla Gallery seeks an enthusiastic,
poised, candidate for the position of Gallery Associate to assist with the management of Micaëla Gallery's exhibitions,
office, and sales.
What we are looking for:
The Gallery Associate supervises a highly
vetted team of interns that support the daily functions of the gallery. Responsibilities include managing exhibitions,
supporting client relationships, daily financial gallery record-keeping, gallery calendar
oversight, and general equipment and exhibition maintenance duties.

Manage exhibitions. Field inquiries
for exhibition applications, submissions and files. Manage and
oversee exhibition installations and storage. Supervise/prepare
press and publicity materials.

Maintain ongoing office operations,
perform basic filing and financial record-keeping, including exhibition reports and employee time-keeping.

Oversee acquisition, installation, maintenance and upkeep of all computer hardware and software.

Supervise/interview interns for gallery
support, exhibition receptions and internship programs.
Qualifications:
The Gallery Associate is a personable,
well-organized individual with proven communication skills.
Poise and a strong working knowledge of computers and networks is necessary. Basic financial record-keeping and experience with office procedures is essential. Experience with QuickBooks, Excel, Word,
Photoshop, FileMaker and email applications is important. This person must be informed and conversant with Micaëla Gallery's calendar and exhibitions. The candidate must be available to work
some Saturdays and attend evening receptions, events, and attend annual art
fairs on behalf of the gallery. Knowledge of contemporary art, music, video and literature is a huge plus!
This is an hourly part-time paid position. $10-$14/hour DOE ++. Please contact via email only.
